When i open messaging on my android, it brings me to all my conversations?

Yesterday, when I would be texting someone in one conversation, and I would hit the home button, it would stay in that conversation, so when i hit messaging, it would automatically bring me back to the conversation. But now, it brings me to all my conversations, and its really annoying. Anyone know how to change it back?
