How can I protect my home from potential fire caused by neighbor's fireworks?

I have several neighbors around me who set off illegal fireworks (bottle rockets as well as mortars) all around the 4th. I will find remnants of them in my yard and have found them on my roof as well. Police and fire have their hands full, so calling the non-emergency police number is probably not going to be all the productive...and not necessarily how I would want to approach this anyway. My question is what can I do to protect my property from fire that could potentially be caused by those fireworks? We are going to clean out the gutters, but is there anything else I can do to protect my home?
