PS3 Corrupted Hard Disk Help?

I turn on my PS3 and it says the hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored. I click ok and then it says An error occurred during the restore operation. The hard disk must be formatted. All data on the hard disk will be deleted during formatting. Do you want to format? I click yes.It asks to make sure again and i click yes again. The formatting operation gets up to 11% every time and then freezes. In about fifteen seconds my PS3 automatically turns off. What Can I do?
