So the universe is constantly expanding, and speeding up (not a question, fact), what's it like on the edge?

Nothing inside the universe can move faster than the speed of light, yes. The universe itself is able to go faster. The geometry of the universe, based on the best models we currently have, show that space-time is flat, so you wouldn't see anything; it would just go on as an empty expanse.
