How long does your Blackberry Curve 9330 last?

I just got my phone a few days ago and it only lasts about 12 hours. Have brightness set all the way down, I make sure I close the apps, and I only use it lightly to moderately. I have facebook and twitter but I set it so that they don't automatically update. I went to the verizon store and they said this is normal, but it still doesn't seem right to me.
